Week 8, '06 League

From Tom’s driveway one walks down an embankment and into a practical paradise, if, like me, one longs to be surrounded by a mixture of maples, pines, cherry, oak and the accompanying natural ambience that can only be found in this part of the country. Sitting off to the left (south, I think) in the nadir of the little valley is a small, algae covered pond that sports an inordinate amount of frogs. Their chorus (I’m talking about the frogs) was only just beginning when we threw our first darts for week eight… our first week at this new location. Creaking trees, myriad birds and some high whining mosquitoes joined the frogs… I think we could have done without the blood sucking music makers, but it was still a peaceful evening.
As can be expected when one throws at an unfamiliar range, the scores in the first ISAC-style game were down. While we didn’t exactly figure the course out for game 2, the scores did improve.
Game 1: Jack Rowe – 81; Dennis Lantz – 81; Melissa Dildine – 77; Tom Goble – 68XX and Reg Tully – 60.
Game 2: Dennis Lantz – 90XX; Tom Goble – 87; Jack Rowe – 85; Melissa Dildine – 83X and Reg Tully – 53.
The familiar animal round was set up with five targets somewhere between 7 and 20 yards.
Scores for the animal round were:
Dennis Lantz – 30; Melissa Dildine – 22; Reg Tully – 19; Jack Rowe – 9 and Tom Goble – 9.
Week 9 will be held Tuesday, June 27 at this same location. All are welcome.
