Week 6, '06 League
by Atlatls N More
6/12/2006
Week six got off to a rough start. Two days earlier we had just finished up Atlatl in Action weekend and the EMC grounds were still in rough shape from all the rain. The mood wasn’t very upbeat and the scores likely showed this.
The woods were too wet so we decided to play the modified version of bulls-eye baseball, where from 10 meters (approximately) each of us threw one dart at the ten-ring on an ISAC target. Those that hit the ten or X got to throw a dart at the six-ring. In the past we counted successful scores as a single point. This week we changed it so that a successful hit in this ring earned the thrower that number of points. In round one, we threw at the six-ring; in round two at the seven-ring; round three at the eight-ring, etc. The game consisted of two halves, or ten throws and a possible 80 points.
To better understand, I present the first couple of rounds on this week.
In the first round, Dennis, Tom, Melissa and Jack earned the chance to throw at the six ring… only Tom was successful and earned 6 points. In the second round, Dennis, Mike, Tom and Jack earned a throw at the seven-ring… Dennis, Tom & Jack hit the seven and earned 7 points.
At the end of the first half (after five rounds), Melissa and Dennis were tied at 17 points, Tom had 13, Mike had 8 and Jack had 7.
After the second half, the final scores were: Dennis – 36; Melissa – 34; Tom – 19; Jack – 14 and Mike – 8.
The scores from the two ISAC-style games were:
Game 1: Dennis Lantz - 80; Tom Goble – 74X; Melissa Dildine – 74; Jack Rowe – 70X; and Mike Blakeman 34.
Game 2: Dennis Lantz – 92X; Tom Goble – 76X; Jack Rowe – 72X; Melissa Dildine – 62 and Mike Blakeman - 51.
Week seven will be held at the EMC Club Tuesday, June 13, 2006. All are welcome.
