Week 4, '06 League

The weather was great, but everyone seemed a little tired. Only five throwers showed up for week 4. Our first game was an animal round in the woods, then two ISAC style games.
 
It was a night to test new equipment as Missy was trying new darts, Tom was trying a new atlatl and Mike was using a different dart. That fact probably influenced the scores of those throwers; Jack and I have no excuses.
 
In the woods Mike tried to trick the animals by aiming toward one and then turning at the last moment to throw at another. Maybe they were fooled; maybe they weren’t. The scores were down a bit, but it was a nice night to throw.
 
Animal Round Scores:
Dennis – 24; Tom – 20; Jack – 19; Melissa – 16 and Mike 6
 
On the night, the group threw the following at each target:
Turkey: 3 vital, 2 body and 5 misses.
Bear: 1 vital, 5 body and 4 misses.
Deer: 0 vital, 2 body and 8 misses.
Pig: 3 vital, 5 body and 2 misses.
Bobcat: 1 vital, 1 body and 8 misses.
 
Scores for the ISAC-style games were:
 
Game 1: Dennis Lantz 85; Jack Rowe 81X; Melissa Dildine 72; Tom Goble 46 and Mike Blakeman 44.
 
Game 2: Jack Rowe 91; Dennis Lantz 90; Melissa Dildine 78; Tom Goble 60 and Mike Blakeman 33.
 
For the record, Tom moved the weight on his atlatl farther along the shaft toward the spur and was throwing much better after we were done.
 
Week five will be held next Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the EMC Club. Everyone is welcome to join us.
