Week 2, '06 League

A slow breeze kept the bugs away, but in no way affected the darts. Such a beautiful night for throwing darts… and it was good to have Tom, Brandon and Blair throwing with us again. 
 
Eight of us split into two groups. For our ‘fun’ game we set up the woods course. Reminiscent of last year, we threw two ISAC style games and then an animal round. Five animal targets - a turkey, deer, bobcat, bear and pig - were set inside the wooded area to the north of our main target. The biggest difference from last year was that we threw at the animal targets from closer distances. (Bob B. would have been proud.)
 
Scores for the ISAC-style games were:
 
Game 1: Dennis Lantz - 90XX; Brandon Anderson - 88X; Jack Rowe - 87XX; Tom Goble - 82; Melissa Dildine - 72; Mike Blakeman - 59 (great score for his third game ever); Reg Tully - 41 and Blair Chatt - 40. (Blair is 11 years old so it was good throwing for her.)
 
Game 2: Dennis Lantz - 87; Jack Rowe - 81; Melissa Dildine - 80; Reg Tully - 71; Tom Goble - 67; Brandon Anderson - 60X; Mike Blakeman - 49 and Blair Chatt - 7.
 
In the woods course, the scores were:
 
Group 1: Jack - 21; Brandon - 16; Blair - 6 and Mike - 0.
 
Group 2: Melissa - 32; Dennis - 32; Tom - 23 and Reg - 23.
 
The distance to the targets is not known. We simply set them up in lanes from a single throwing point. I would guess that they were all between 8 and 15 yards. Good hunting range. Scoring was the same as last year (5 points for a shot in the vitals and 3 points for a hit elsewhere in the body.)
 
On the night, the group threw the following at each target:
 
Turkey: 4 vital, 3 body and 9 misses.
Bear: 3 vital, 7 body and 6 misses.
Deer: 3 vital, 3 body and 10 misses.
Pig: 7 vital, 2 body and 7 misses.
Bobcat: 3 vital, 2 body and 11 misses.
 
Week three will be held next Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at the EMC Club. Everyone is welcome to join us.
